Helping Children Grow

September 21st, 2012 by Terry Meeuwsen

Every year, Orphan’s Promise provides an opportunity for children living in orphanages to attend camp. I cannot express what a difference this makes in the lives of these children. Many of them are living very sad lives with little interaction with any kind of loving supervisors. If they don’t have a place to go in the summer it is spent out in a barren yard with very little supervision and opens the door for these kids to get into serious trouble. We recently received a batch of letters from these children and I have listed a few of them here. Their English may not be perfect, but their hearts are in their words:

A young boy, Khoren writes;  I have passed very joyful days in the camp. I thank you for this opportunity that you gave to me. I am also thankful for your kind look, parental smile and good treatment that you give to me richly every day. Due to you now I can read and write and behave myself correctly around my friends. Here I felt something that I have forgotten from my childhood. I felt big love towards me here. My deep gratitude is to you for your kindness and efforts. You try to help me and rise each time.

A young girl, Lena writes:  We spent very happy and interesting time in the camps. During that time we played a lot of entertaining games, made handiworks, ate tasty hotdogs and sandwiches and got beautiful presents. We thank those who organized the camps. I had unforgettable moments here. It is already one and half year that I have lost my father, my smile was lost with my dad too. But as I started to attend to this club, I found my lost smile because of your love and I understood that life is going on. I got a new power to live. Thank you for calling me to life again.

A young boy, Edgar writes:  Our thanks are for the organizers of the program “Orphan’s promise”. It doesn’t spare any efforts for making children so happy and carefree. There are a lot of children in our environment who don’t have both parents and friends. This program helps me to be happy I got many friends there. Our thanks are for the organizers of the program “Orphan’s promise”. It doesn’t save any efforts for making children so happy and carefree. There are a lot of children in our environment who don’t have both parents and friends. This program helps me to have many  friends there. Our teachers were very attentive and careful. I was also in the tent camp. That day was one my happiest days of my life. We were singing, dancing and rejoicing in the nature. And all these unforgettable memories are due to our Orphan’s promise program.  They rejoice not only me, but they left their footprints in their lives.

Thank you Orphan’s Promise for loving and caring for us!

These precious children leave their footprints in all of our lives – thank you for caring and for helping to improve their lives.
