In the first chapter of Isaiah, he tells the people, “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” (v.17 NLT) Another translation uses the phrase “take up the cause of the fatherless.” (NIV) This is the mission of Christian Alliance for Orphans, which Orphan’s Promise is privileged to be a member and support. New to Orphan’s Promise myself, it was an honor to attend CAFO’s annual Summit conference for the first time. Fellow attendees visited our booth to hear about Terry’s story and ask questions. After previous years of service at Operation Blessing’s international programs, this was a tremendous opportunity to hear specific stories on adoption, foster efforts, and global orphan care.

The Alliance unites more than 100 Christian organizations and a network of churches. This year’s event proudly had 49 states and 25 countries represented! In addition to CAFO members, the 2,500 diverse attendees also included other ministries, current and tentative parents, and eager individuals that simply wanted to get involved. Of course the worship was wonderful and there were numerous speakers who shared what the Lord put on their heart. The common theme was that all had one desire – to see God’s love for the fatherless reflected in His people.

It is always a joy to connect and make new friends at such gatherings, as well as inspire others about what the Lord is doing with Orphan’s Promise! Fellowship is powerful encouragement. A well-known South African pastor once said, “Our love to God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it displays.” I look forward to becoming more familiar and sharing new story updates with everyone in the future. We are constantly appreciative to donors, friends, and prayer partners that join with us. Thank you for continuing to spread the word! God bless you all!

About jordan

Jordan Palser joined Orphan's Promise in 2013 after serving Operation Blessing since 2004 in both domestic and international humanitarian efforts. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Business from Oral Roberts University, he recruited local volunteer groups and helped organize resources for domestic outreach centers and community events. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita provided short and long term disaster relief experience in the field. As Manager of International Shipping at the OBI primary distribution center, he supervised gift-in-kind donations and inventory. Jordan’s diverse logistical experience supported specific international programs and disasters. He was blessed to develop relationships - from Latin America and Haiti, to the Philippines and South Sudan. A third generation pastor’s kid, he has a genuine heart for missions illustrated by assisting missionaries in the Amazon, and further volunteer trips to Central America. In recreation, Jordan enjoys being with family and spending time with his nephew and niece.
