Broken Families Get Help

May 15, 2012 Orphan’s Promise held a seminar at their training center in Ternopil, Ukraine entitled “Raising children from incomplete families” for caregivers and for single parents.

Rescuing children from disaster and poverty is one step, but there are other steps involved in raising children to be solid, productive citizens. During the seminar we revealed the basic principles of relations between caregivers and children.

The main purpose of the seminar was to motivate parents and caregivers to work on improving their own character, which will create a positive influence for the children in their care, and to help prepare the children for independent life.

In order to help the caregivers, organizers of the seminar, along with the participants, agreed to hold weekly meetings starting in September of 2012. During these group meetings different issues that children and their parent/s deal with are addressed along with the ways of solving those issues.

We have many dedicated workers in the field, many of them volunteers, who desire to help children who have had a difficult start in life. Lives and attitudes in the country of Ukraine are being changed because of programs like this. Please pray for these workers and for the groups they are working with that many will grow in the faith and that they will be ministered to as well as the children they serve.
